The 96% AFUE indicates that 96% of the gas consumed by the furnace is utilized for heating your home, while only 4% is lost through flue piping and normal furnace operations. Furnaces with an efficiency of 90% and above require plastic/PVC flue venting. If your installation requires metal flue venting, an 80% efficient furnace would be suitable. The unit operates on natural gas by default, and we also offer an optional LP conversion kit at an additional cost.
