The Watson McDaniel PT temperature pilot is used in conjunction with a HD main valve to create a temperature control valve. The PTUBW-30-8 temperature pilot has a temperature control range from 160°F - 220°F, has an 8-foot capillary, and includes a copper sensing bulb with brass isolation well. Note: a PT temperature pilot can be paired with a PP pressure pilot to create a temperature AND pressure reducing valve. Within boiler feed systems, a temperature control valve is typically used on atmospheric feed tanks to control the tank temperature via a steam sparge tube or steam injector. When used with a low-pressure steam sparge tube, it’s recommended to pair the temperature pilot with a pressure pilot to prevent the sparge tube from exceeding its designed operating pressure.
