The Mitsubishi MXZ-5C42NA2-U1 is rated at 42,000 BTU, which should be equal to or greater than the total BTU count across all air handlers paired with it. Using a certified pairing with a higher BTU count total can potentially lower the speed that the unit can heat and cool, as well as limit the functional outputs of each air handler if they are all running at the same time.

Warranty

Mitsubishi offers a 5-year parts and 7-year compressor warranty on all its products. Registering the unit online after installation following your state and local codes upgrades the warranty to a 10-year parts and compressor warranty.

Enhanced Comfort

The MXZ-5C42NA2-U1's variable speed compressor allows for more precise adjustments to the covered spaces with the right air handlers. This improves electrical efficiency by ramping the compressor up and down based on the unit's air handlers' needs, as well as providing a more stable temperature output from the connected air handlers to provide superior comfort down to -4°F.

Many air handlers compatible with the MXZ-5C42NA2-U1 can use any Mitsubishi-brand thermostat or adapter for ease of control. The most convenient to control, the Kumo cloud WiFi adapter, allows each air handler to be accessed from anywhere with an internet connection. Please note that you will need one thermostat or adapter per indoor air handler you want to control with it.

With the updated MHK2, you can now use the Kumo Cloud wi-fi adapter (sold separately) alongside the wireless controller. You no longer have to choose between internet and wireless control--you can have both!

Components

The MRCH2 is the main body of the thermostat, which can be placed up to 200 feet away from the indoor unit without requiring line of sight. The MRC2 cable connects to the CN105 connector on the indoor unit's control board, and the other end of the cable connects to the MIFH2 receiver. The MIFH2 receiver can be placed on the right side of a wall-mounted unit, in the pocket of an MLZ-KP cassette, or anywhere near the control side of a ducted or square cassette unit.
